Frederik Van Lierde wins Ironman World Championships in Hawaii thanks to Swiss technology
The Belgian top athlete is the first one to cross the finish line putting his faith into the Swiss running shoe On.
The Swiss On Cloudracer is the winning shoe of the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. On athlete, Frederik Van Lierde won the Ironman World Championship in Kona with the eighth fastest time in the 35-year history of the event. His performance running Shoe, the On Cloudracer flew with him to the finish line, directly towards the World Champion Title. “I really wanted to get into these shoes from the first time that I tried them on. I was always a good runner, but with On I can go faster and further without risking injuries – which I have been struggling with last year”, says Frederik Van Lierde. “For this win, everything had to come together, and On was an important part of it.” Besides Frederik Van Lierde, the Ironman World Champion of Kona 2013, the other On-athletes showed impressive results. The Swiss On-athlete and top favourite of the Ironman World Championships Kona, Caroline Steffen, had to fight with stomach aches and required repeated breaks. Despite all this, she ran the fifth place. James Cunnama from teamTBB showed a great running effort and finished on the fourth place. Teammate and North American-Champion, Mary Beth Ellis, exceeded all expectations with even starting in Kona and comparatively long kept up with the top for a relatively long time. Prior to the Ironman World Championship in Kona, MBE crashed in training with her bike just four weeks ago and injured her collarbone.
On congratulates all athletes for the top results and is very excited for all their efforts.
May the Cloudracer fly them to the finish line, whenever they need!
