A weekend full of success for our ON-athletes

Victories for the Cloudracer at Orienteering Worldcup Baden and Bodensee-Marathon.

Simone Niggli Luder retired this weekend with one last big success in Baden. The 23-fold Worldchampion ran her last international competition in Baden and with her efforts created a perfect Goodbye from elite orienteering. On one hand she won her 66th Worldcup and on the other hand she got her ninth victory in the Overall Worldcup (Worldcup rankings? Da versteht man nicht ganz was der unterschied ist, das ist das Saisonresultat ja?). After running trough the finish line, Simone let herself be celebtrated from her teammates and from the spectators. Simone Niggli ran her last competitive race with the On Cloudracer.
The men also had a success, ending the season with a double victory. The Swiss Matthias Kyburz also won his race and at the same time got the victory in the Overall Worldcup Rankings.

On the same day at the Bodensee-Marathon:

The Kenian Esther Macharia from Team run2gother as the only elite female runner not just won but also beat the course record by five minutes and ran through the finish line at 2:30:50 hours. She reached thefinish 20 minutes in advance of the second runner Swiss Astrid Müller. That’s Esthers new personal best time as well. She achieved this fantastic result while running with the On Cloudracer.
All three places on podium for the men were occupied by Kenian runners from run3gether; all of them with the On Cloudracer. Edwin Kipkorirreached the third place. Geoffrey Ngugi Kanyanjua ran through the finish line 13 seconds ahead of Edwin, even though he had to stop several times to throw up along the way. On top of the podium stood RichardKiprono Bett, who reached a new personal best time with a 2:12:45 hours finish time.

The run2gether athletes share their opinion about the Cloudracer:
"The On Cloudracer makes it much easier to perform well on hard surface (asphalt). We are not used to asphalt and therefore running in theCloudracer feels nearly like running on Forestroads like in Kenya. Thanks a lot to On for producing this great shoe and supportingus!"

Alongside the elite there was the up-and-coming young swiss talent Nando Baumann running in his On-Shoes. He ran the 12th place in the half marathon overall and he was the fastest one in his age category M18.
