Double win at Ironman Nice

Mary Beth Ellis and Frederik Van Lierde have won the Ironman at the French Riviera. Both were wearing the On Cloudracer and setting new records.

It was an amazing start for both at 6.30 in the morning. Clouds were hanging in the sky, but it was nicely warm and the sea silent. Frederik Van Lierde swam fast, set the pace and stayed ahead through the whole race. He finished the bike leg with a solid 6 minute head start in front of the second and never gave up. His third round in the run was his slowest, but he paced himself well and became faster in the last round. He wins the Ironman France at Nice with 8:08:59. "I love my On shoes", Frederik says after his victory. "They definitely kept me running fast and in my rhythm."

Mary Beth Ellis crossed the finish line a good hour later at 09:12:54. "It was good to see that finish line", the US girl from teamTBB laughs. "I love the On shoe. I really tribute having such a good run to my Cloudracers."

Mary Beth was injured and unable to train as much as normal during winter. She only got healthy in April, so it was a short build up. "The On shoes give me that extra bounce no other shoe does", Mary Beth explains further. "My legs feel fresher after 30k than with any other shoe."

Congratulations to Frederik and Mary Beth on a fantastic race. It was a very succesful weekend for On. Besides the two victories French pro athlete Olivier Marceau finished 6th at Ironman Nice. At the 5150 Philippines Ben Allen crossed the finish line as second, Jacqui Slack as third. All were racing the On Cloudracer. Congratulations to all of you!
